Australian Lions Foundation Limited

From when Cyclone Tracey decimated Darwin in 1974, to the devastating bushfires that impacted areas of South Australia and Victoria in 2015, and Western Australian in 2016, the Australian Lions Foundation has been on the ground providing financial assistance and support to local communities in times of need.

We continue to fulfil this need not only in Australia and Papua New Guinea, but also internationally where our emergency relief and community welfare projects contribute to global understanding and cooperation. Formed with the sole purpose of assisting people in times of need, these are just a few of our current initiatives:

  • Funding support for Mobile Cancer Screening facility for South Australia and Northern Territory
  • Relief funding to assist people impacted by the 2016 Cyclone Debbie and following flooding
  • Bicycles for children at the Jacana School for Autism
  • A Cancer clinic in Colac, Victoria
  • The provision of Liberty swings for disabled children
  • Funding of Men’s Sheds

Lions Clubs Mobilise for Drought Relief

Lions Clubs around Australia are mobilising to help farming families through the worst drought in recent memory.
The Australian Lions Foundation (ALF) has launched an appeal to raise half a million dollars in one month for fodder and essential items to support farming communities.

Donations can be made through any local Lions Clubs or through this Website by using the “Make a Donation” link.

The funds raised by the ALF will quickly be distributed to local Lions Clubs in drought affected communities to help farming families.  Lion’s grassroots network of over 1200 clubs is already working in their communities to identify those most in need and the best ways to help.

“Lions is already distributing fodder and hampers through the Lions Need for Feed program and Lions Clubs around the country are raising funds and mobilising community support but we know we need to do more” said Foundation Chairperson Tony Benbow OAM.

“Because we work through our network of local clubs, we can be sure that the support will go to where it is most needed.

Because it’s Lions, every dollar donated to this appeal will be used to support those in need.
